I would like to thank the nearly forty of you who have
contributed so generously to support the list. That is about 6% of
the 675 members of mil-veh and mil-veh-digest, and contributions
are still arriving. I will be depositing checks and running credit
card payments this week, as I have only just received the G4 (at
the old price, for those of you who have been following Apple's
problems in shipping these machines in volume). I expect MacOS X
Server for the G4 to be released in a couple of weeks and will
install it as soon as I receive it. After I have it up and running,
my first priority will be to move the list and existing archives
over. Once they are stable, I'll set up e-mail and web sites, and
I'll be contacting entitled contributors to arrange logins and
passwords at that time. Then I'll set up an indexed set of archives
which will be available to everyone who has contributed. Again, I
am very grateful for both your financial support and kind words,
and I am certainly looking forward to bringing the new server online.
Also, it has been a while since I have posted the rules and regs under
which I run the list. They bear repeating periodically, so please
look over them. They are not addressed at anyone in particular.
Following this message will be three informational postings about
the mil-veh mailing list. Save these message for future reference.
They describe the list rules, how to change your subscribed address,
and how to unsubscribe. There aren't that many rules, and those we
have are basically common sense. Follow these and we'll all be
happy.
