I have an 84 M1009 and last year put a 2" Lift on it with single mount ride
adjustable shocks. It rides way better then when I got it which isn't
saying much cause those front leafs were working as well as the rubber band
that holds my Sunday paper closed. I have driven in a friends civilian
version with dual shocks and found mine to be stiffer on the loosed setting
then his on the tightest. I did take the truck for a test at Moab right
after the lift, it wiped out 2 85 Blazers, 86 short bed Chevy P/U, 98 Nissan
P/U, 99 Jeep Wrangler, and a 97 4 Runner. Left all my friends in the dust
and I didn't have to worry about the paint job. After 3 days of off roading
all my buddies were pissed that I only paid $1000 for a truck that could out
perform them.
