Right side of hood, and above van doors: US ARMY NK03QM [painted
over, but readable because stick-on letters were used, and paint
cracked at edges of letters]
Both engine compartment side doors, both sides of van near rear:
7188
Rear of van, right side: W038 [painted over with black paint]
Right side of front bumper: [painted over with black paint,
unreadable]
The "NK03QM" number looks like it ought to be some sort of unit
marking, but I couldn't make sense of it from the information in my
TB43-0209 (Oct. 1990). Does anybody care to guess where and/or how my
van might have been used?
Thanks in advance!
P.S.: I rotated the tires this weekend. 60 lug nuts, and about 1,500
pounds of wheels... ouch... It ought to roll soon. There's one flat
tire that needs fixin', and a stripped wheel stud that needs
replacin'. The hub it's on has the wrong kind of studs (right-handed
studs on a left wheel), so as long as I need to pull the hub anyway,
I'm replacing all of them with left-handed studs.
Keep `em Rolling!
