[I tried mailing you directly, but the message couldn't go out for
some reason...]

First of all, I don't actually have any hands-on experience with that
family of radios yet... but I have a heap of manuals on them, so I'll
try to help a bit.

The configuration you mentioned (an RT-524 transceiver with an R-442
auxiliary receiver) is called the AN/VRC-47 radio set. It is one of
the many sets in the "VRC-12 family" of radio sets, which differ in
which specific combination of RT-246, RT-524 and/or R-442 sets they
include.

I haven't found any installation manuals for the M151 yet. However,
there are a few scanned manuals on my web page (see the URL in my
signature, below) that might provide useful background information if
you are new to green radio installations. I have manuals on-line for
installing the AN/VRC-12 into 2.5-ton trucks (the AN/VRC-12 is just
like your set, except it has an RT-246 instead of an RT-524; the
RT-246 lacks the built-in speaker, has 10 preset channel buttons, and
slides into the same mount as the RT-524), installing the AN/VRC-46
into M37 3/4-ton trucks (the AN/VRC-46 consists of an RT-524 by
itself), and installing the AN/GRC-106 into an M38A1 jeep (the
AN/GRC-106 is a completely different radio, but that manual might give
you a better idea of what installations in jeep-like vehicles look
like). Oh, yeah, I recently bought an installation kit to put an
AN/VRC-47 into a HMMWV, so I have that manual, too, but it was too
blurry to bother scanning.

According to my SB 11-131 "Vehicular Sets and Authorized
Installations" manual, the installation kit for putting an AN/VRC-47
into an M151-series truck is called an MK-1306/VRC-47, its NSN is
5820-00-193-8348, and the installation manual which would come with
the kit is called "Book Plan Ref. No. 305". I have a list of the parts
in the installation kit, but having a list of bolts and lock-washers
probably won't do you much good without the manual.

Murphy's Surplus Warehouse (see the link on my web page) currently
lists a lot of the mounts and brackets for VRC-12-series installation
on their web page at reasonable prices.

I hope that helps you find the rest of the information you need!
