I was surfing about and saw the Carolina Growler, which is \essentially an
M151-A2 in kit form with a heavier guage body shell. For about $7,500, for a
basic kit with "servicable" components to about $10,000, you can get a
nicely equipped "A2" with completely rebuilt engine drivetrain and other
stuff. See the web site at http://www.carolinagrowler.com/
I was wondering if there was anyone out there who might have
purchased/assembled one of these things and what their experiences might be.
Is it worthwhile? Is it worth the expense? What was missing? Is it still
compatible with military parts/equipment despite the heavier guage body?
Still have good performance (relative) despite heavier guage body? What
could/should have been handled differently? Is there good support from the
kit manufacturer? I might consider one in the not too distant future (I just
bought a 42 GPW thats sucking up my cash presently).
Thanks,
Bob K.
