Gavin,
On my M151A1, the vacuum is produced by a pump mounted on the
engine where the fuel pump would normally be. The vacuum line goes
to the on/off valve on the windshield frame, then to the wiper motors.
They do not continue on. If your vacuum is picked up from the intake
manifold, the line will still end at the the wiper motors. The disadvantage
to the manifold vacuum is that your wipers will slow down, maybe even
stop, when accelerating.
