Re: [MV] M35A2 in the snow?

I have run both M35s and M800s up in the Sierras in the snow. I thought they
wouldn't do well but was quite surprised. By the time I chicken out and turn
around I am usually miles beyond where the hot shot 4X4s have turned around.
I lose my nerve when the snow is up to about the front bumper because I
don't like the idea of the long walk back. Ain't nobody around able to get
out that far to come get me.
Seriously though, the truck will push better with a load in the back. Chains
will give some additional help. I would rather have the air shift transfer
to positively lock in the front axle because when you are coming off a hill,
the automatic sprague transfer tends to disengage and as the front axle is
no longer pulling the truck doesn't steer as well. WARNING: When you get
stuck ( and you will ) you are really stuck and about the only thing that
can pull you out is another 6X6 preferably a wrecker. Nothing like trudging
back for miles to go back to get your wrecker to make you say " ain't do'in
this SHXX,,,, STUFF AGAIN ". Let someone know you are out and where you are
going for safety sake!
But what do I know
Randy
