HI LIST
I NEED HELP ! MY 1952 M38A1 SER # 20228 WILL START IN THE COLD WITHOUT
A CHOKE, IT TAKES QUITE A WHILE TO WARM UP SO IT WILL REV. IT RUNS VERY
ROUGH ON THE TOP END. IT IS ALMOST LIKE THE VALVES ARE GONE, BUT IT DID
NOT ACT THIS WAY WHEN THE WEATHER WAS WARM. WHEN IT IDLES (FAST IDLE)
FOR A WHILE, IT STALLS (NO SHUDDER, JUST STOPS), BUT STARTS RIGHT UP
AGAIN. (SEEMS LIKE IT STARVED SUDDENLY, AS IT NEED GAS TO RESTART.
IT WAS A DRIVER WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND NEEDED MOST SEALS. I HAVE CHANGED
WIRES, PLUGS, POINTS, CONDENSER, COIL.
NOW WHAT ???
WHAT SHOULD THE COMPRESSION TEST READ ???
HOW HARD IS IT FOR A CARB REBUILD FOR A FIRST TIME DO-IT-YOURSELFER THAT
HAS NOT TOUCHED A CARB INSIDE ???
PAINT QUESTION: WHAT TEMPERATURE MUST IT BE TO SPRAY OR PAINT RED ZINC
OXIDE PRIMER ???
I APPRECIATE ALL HELP GIVEN UP TILL NOW. I THINK THE LIST IS FABULOUS
FOR FIRST TIME OWNERS. WITH THE EXPERIENCE THAT YOU ALL HAVE IT IS THE
BEST RESEARCH TEAM AVAILABLE.
THERE IS NO MVPA LOCAL CLUB NEAR ME, BUT I WILL JOIN ONE AS SOON AS MY
TOY IS READY.
