I've not been following the list that closely for the last four or
five days. Having grown weary of waiting for Apple to ship an update
to MacOS X Server to support today's hardware, I obtained a Power
Computing Power Tower Pro 180. I immediately installed MacOS X
Server 1.0.2 on it and for the last several days I have been
configuring CommuniGatePro. Hence my absence. However, I am hard
at work preparing the cutover from the old to the new server,
and I do NOT want to be distracted by off-topic conversations. I
appear to have missed some sniping between people, so to speak, and
I want to remind you all to keep your discussions cordial and
ON-TOPIC. Firearms are only suitable for conversation if they relate
directly to the private ownership of military vehicles. No one is
more intellectually supportive of the Right to keep and bear arms
than I am, but it doesn't belong on this list. Please, people, help
me make my work easier and don't distract me.
I'll be posting info on the new subscribe and unsubscribe commands
shortly, though I am still learning them myself. My hope is to move
the list over to mil-veh.org this weekend, but if I am not confident
that the cutover will go smoothly, I will postpone it for a short
while. My desire is to have uninterrupted delivery--I'll shut one
machine down and bring the other one up simultaneously. Mail to
mil-veh@skylee.com will be automatically redirected to the new
address for the foreseeable future, and I will be modifying the
message footer to reflect the change in a day or two. You should
be able to access the list's new web site in a day or two, but I
won't be creating accounts and personal web sites until the list
is on that machine and running smoothly.
My thanks again to all of you who have helped me financially to
make this move. I will be very glad once we are on more modern
hardware--the NeXTstation is getting quite creaky.
Again, please keep your discussions on-topic. I do not want to have
to intervene to keep things flowing. Thanks.
