Damon,
You may want to replace the lights with the type that have a lens front
and rear. These are readily available and would allow approaching traffic as
well as vehicles right beside you, to know your intentions. All these lights
are basicly the same size and I'm sure it would be a matter of bolting one in
place of the other.
