Gavin & List,
Dan is absolutely correct. Fuel line can be used for vacuum line. Because
of the chemistry of fuels, one MUST use hose rated/graded for fuels or it
will soon decompose, with resulting fire hazard !! It is a different
(rubber/plastic ??) compound altogether. I have used a variety of different
type hose for vacuum lines (nylon, polyethylene, rubber, neoprene), just
make sure it has a strong enough wall so it does not collapse under the
vacuum applied. Keep your toy (and yourself) safe ... always use fuel-rated
supplies for any fuel connections.
All the best to you and yours in those tepid climes this holiday season, and
to all you sage listers as well!
