Dave,

Yes, I have a Mack ENDT 673 turbo diesel in the truck. It gets between 7-8 mpg
depending on the load.

I am thinking about removing the drive shaft that is between the tandems. Since the
tandems are always locked, I would think you could get better mileage that way then
by fooling with the front axle.
