No, I wasn't bashing them.
I was just commenting that they were acquainted with the vice-president of
these here United States. And that it might or might not be a coincidence
of timing with other events that have taken place, that we have been made
aware of.
Everybody knows that having friends and acquaintances in high places in
government never hurts. (Except when it starts to splatter and run down
hill!)
I've never dealt with them directly. I never pursued things any farther
than reading that line of requiring the cash deposit up front with my bid.
Which would be returned within 30 days of the award notification. Whether
that has changed, I couldn't tell you. I just never liked handing out money
and waiting for it to come back later. Sounded a lot like those OPM (Other
People's Money) property programs to me. I didn't like the idea of
financing their purchase of the equipment from the government that I was
just bidding on. Rubbed me the wrong way, and I just haven't dealt with
them. But that could be different now, I don't know.
I just prefer making an honest bid in good faith and paying for it when I
pick it up. If I happen to win the bid. I personally like going to the
auctions myself. It's much more of a circus. You meet everybody! You get
to know folks. Much more civy lized than the sealed bid method.
I just hope that they don't get the ground transportation group contract.
