Hi Stu
I will try to answer some of your questions. I had an M1009 for a while and
really liked the truck but I had to sell one, just too many around. Here
goes.

Mine was CARC 383 green on all interior metal surfaces.
> Blackout lights are non working-wires broken etc. Is there any NOS
kits

You can get all the individual pieces at rallies and from MV parts dealers
easily.
> Is it cheaper to buy new weather strip for windows and doors from car

It would be cheaper to get these from MV dealers, but you can use Blazer
stuff from Chevy also.
> Trailer light plug rusted out. Where can I get NOS one. Is it 24
volt
> for the trailer lights? I have a 416.
Yes. It will work the 24 v lights on mil M101 and M416 trailers. Plugs are
avail. from many sources that advertise in MV Mag and Supply Line.
> I'm in southern NH. What is the best motor oil for me to use? Gear oil?
> Steering is loose. How do I adjust drag?
> How do I tell if it has silicone brake fluid?
> What filters do I change and when?
Good quality oil in either SAE 30 or 15W-40 is allowed per GM and Army
manuals. Silicone DOT 5 brake fluid should be in it. Gear oil is standard
90W gear oil except that the rear end needs fluid compatible with limited
slip.
> Where do you mount rear license plate and light if you want to keep
> pintle hook?
I had a bracket under the bumper to the left side with a light. Some people
also put the plate on the tailgate but I dont like that.
> Where do you put master shut-off switch if you want to put in radio?
Civilian tunes can run off the ignition switch, 12 volt , Mil radio can use
its own power switch. Glenn Shaw
