Lets look at air packs for the 5 ton.
last government buy MAY of 2000 - 35ea at $295.00ea
that would make the 1ea price +-$375.00 to $400.00ea i would think.
last time i saw them sold new surplus was in lots of 75ea to 100ea, and the dealers
that bought them paid an average of $150.00ea to $175.00ea in those quantities.
think what you want about pennies on the dollar, but surplus hasn't been that way for years. it is a very
competitive business!!!
> It is what they want for them. What determines the worth of something is what two people(buyer and seller) agree on. This is especially true for the surplus market. Someone else, like Uncle Sam originally paid what the part is "worth" or what some contractor said it is worth, like the expensive hammers and toilet lids. These surplus dealers buy the part for pennies on the dollar
you must not go the the same sales i go to then.
where are the cheap pennies on the dollar sales? i need to stock up on cheap truck and jeep parts.
AND DON'T FORGET, THEY THROW 80% OF WHAT THEY BUY IN THE DUMPSTER!
> and try and mak a killing on the parts to newbies. I am not going to fund their 10,000 square foot shops where I can find a local guy who happens to have a copule of extra items that he would like to sell to get money to fix up his other vehicles...
