You're right in general, but Home Depot has supplied quite a few of
the parts in my deuce and HMMWV! Cable ties, hose clamps, and chunks
of metal to make light-duty (and sometimes temporary) brackets have
all found their way into my trucks. I even used a hunk of clothes
dryer exhaust hose as a temporary heater duct replacement, before I
found a NOS heater installation kit for my deuce.
Far more parts from McMaster-Carr have found their way into my trucks,
such as assorted grade-8 hardware, SRML wire for add-ins and
replacement of damaged wiring in my HMMWV (it's very similar to the
wire used in the HMMWV's wiring harness), grommets, battery cable
clamps (they sell the military-style battery cable clamps for about $5
each), battery cables (not as good as the stuff that was originally in
the truck, but a servicable replacement for a truck that's not
entering MV competitions), wire lugs, adhesive-lined heat shrink
tubing for making water-proof splices, and on and on... I'm not too
close to any good truck parts stores, but McMaster-Carr lives inside
my computer, and makes parts magically appear on my doorstep the next
day! :-)

I respectfully disagree with you on this one. The deuce may generate a
lot less condensation than a truck with full air brakes, but it still
generates some, and the tanks should be drained every day when
operating the truck. I'd bet that even more condensation will be
generated when towing a trailer with air-controlled brakes, like an
M105. Even if you're in a very hot and dry area, and you get so little
condensation that you only need to drain the tanks every few days,
it's still nice to avoid crawling under the truck in the dirt for no
good reason, especially when the cable-pull valves are so cheap and
easy to install.
