Well, Jim, looks like everyone wants the answer to your question to be
in the public forum, so here's mine.
> 1. How old are you?
39
> 2. Did you ever serve in the military?
Nope
> 3. What country?
Australia
> 9. What MV have you or do you own?
2 x tracked AFV, 2 x wheeled AFV (3 of which are goers)
I see from Andreas' answer to your question that the military mind in
Germany is just as unfathomable as those in our countries. It really
makes me wonder how the military can declare someone's eyesight renders
them ineligible for a drivers licence yet he then goes on to obtain
the highest official qualifications obtainable in civilian life AND is
not required to drive with glasses! What he didn't mention is that he
is also qualified as a driving tester/examiner in all classes of
vehicle (which would include Kettenkrads).
Should you want to know his actual job title, here it is, you are
supposed to pronounce it all in one breath!
"Amtlich anerkannter Sachverständiger für den Kraftfahrzeugverkehr".
In English:
"Official acknowledged expert for motor vehicle traffic".
Given my hobby (AFV's), I wish I could lay claim to that qualification
too.
Regards
Doug
