<< The other problem is that some vehicles don't track or follow correctly:
You turn one way, the front wheels on the towed vehicles turn the other.
Been there, done that left the skid marks on the road....

The other other reason could be that w/o additional weight on the towing
vehicles rear wheels (especially a 10 wheeler) you may not be able to stop!.
Been there too being pushed down the road by the duece behindwith all 10 of
 my wheels locked!

Dear "Dr" Deuce: You have pointed out two of the troublesome events that
will occur when performing amateur towing. 1. If the rear vehicle is equipped
with airbrake connections, then run a hose between the service outlets on
both the towing and towed trucks. The rear truck's brakes will respond as
though a trailer were being towed. (Wreckers have extra long hoses as part of
their tool complement for this reason.) 2. If the rear truck is equipped
with air assist steering, also connect the Emergency outlets with a hose. The
air steering, under the control of the driver of the
towed truck, will then respond to allow trouble-free steering. (If you are
offended by shameless sales pitches, press DELETE now) Air assist steering is
available for the 2.5 ton M35 series trucks from our company. Arthur P.
