I am in need of new wood for my top bows. They felt kind of "light" when I
took them out this fall and in the process of just moving them around, one
of the arched bows broke right at the metal angle, dry rot I assume. Does
anyone sell just the wood? If not, is there a market for them? A customer
of mine does industrial wood working, a cooper actually, and he has some
really nice hardwoods that stand up to chemical and environmental attack
like no wood grown in the US of A anyway. He's offered to assist me in
making some from a wood called ipe, or pau laupe or something like that.
That would involve steaming and such. Might be fun to try it, but it's a
lot of work if they are already out there for sale. Anyone interested????
