I teach at the University of Missouri-Army ROTC, and
during WWII they produced the same products we produce
now--Lieutenants.
The two that are most notable from that period are Sam
Walton, later founder and CEO of Wal-Mart, and Arthur
"Bull" Simons, who later went on the lead the Raid on
Son Tay Prison, and was hired by Ross Perot to free
his employees held in Iran after the fall of the Shah.
Mizzou produced Artillery Lieutenants at the time, and
we are still located in Crowder Hall, which was brand
new in 1938 when these cadets passed through our
doors.
