Steve,
I appreciate the poke in the eye! Really I do! ROFL!
During the first few minutes after the OKC bombing, videos from at least two national news agencies showed a panicked crew of fire dept respondents carrying a device out of the building. It was unclear exactly what this was, but it was cylindrical, painted OD, and had yellow stripes around it. A warning went out through the bombing site that there was "another device", and momentarily, people were rushing to exit the scene. I personally saw a few seconds of this film on an ABC affiliate, which was never again shown on TV. Later on,
there were several references in investigation reports that the BATF had stored in the building "unspecified munitions", which supposedly were being used for training purposes. It was said that the bureau knew they were not supposed to be stored there, but did so for the expedience. As far as I know, no official response to this was ever made. This is archived in enough places that were following the situation that they should still be recoverable. Testimony was given by a female employee
that seemed to corroborate these charges, but she is later said to have vanished from the earth.
To be clear, I am not your typical conspiratorial enthusiast, and I think Tim McVeigh was a cowardly mad bomber. I also happen to believe that SOME of our federal law enforcement agencies need some reining in, as there are some who feel they are above the law, and can do what they wish. It is not beyond the realm of probability that these agencies would do some harm, and then later on, lie under oath to cover it up. After all, they were taught by experts!
For evil to triumph, it is merely required that good men stand by and do nothing.
