We find up here in the Great White North that the effect is even more pronounced, exacerbated by our latitudinal approximation to the magnetic pole. Truckers driving the east-west route Halifax/Montreal/Toronto/Vancouver find that their southern-most tyres wear faster than those on the opposite side, and generally speaking, steering linkages should be adjusted accordingly before each cross-country trip.

Up here in the Zephyrian Highlands, however, we've conquered this problem through an ingenious routing of waste pipes around a small but powerful generator inducing a reverse polarized field; we still maintain our square septic tanks, and hardly ever need to pull the lids and bucket them out.
