There's a teflon 'goo' used for hydraulic
fittings (typical 2000-3000 psi stuff)
that works real well. Really seals
good.
Us hydraulic guys avoid teflon tape as
much as possible, because little pieces
of it can come off inside the line; and
hydraulic valves are so close-fit that
these tiny pieces can jam valves. Not
good when it's swinging the boom of
a 50 ton excavator...<grin>
I've seen the goo for sale at farm-supply
places; like where they buy/sell used
tractors, implements, parts, fluids, etc..
I'll bet MSC has it in their catalog too.
