[MV] EUC Form

David,
I think its nice that they managed to align their dates for the new
paperwork, and their annoyance ( read: complete pissing off) of the client
base, with the ability to hide and let GL take the flack.

Our tax dollars at work.

Rikk,

Here is the answer.

I have asked our contracting officer for something written about the
activity last year on the previously cleared customers. Nothing is
available at the moment, it is just something that has been mentioned
continuously in meetings with the DRMS. I will continue to pursue this.

Here are the facts as I understand them. In March 2001, TSC revoked all
historically cleared purchasers of Demil B & Q property. Their intention
was for all purchasers to renew their clearances through a more rigorous
process with newly discovered law enforcement database information. This
universe of buyers (2,600 I am told) all had to complete new, more binding,
form 1822's which many customers found onerous. Eventually the form was
re-written so that most buyers were willing to sign it but by that time,
the process to clear new customers seemed to have stagnated. Recently we
have been given a new form for our customers to complete that requires a
complete middle name. Last week we were informed that if a form 1822 (2
page document) requires a correction, both pages must be redone by the
buyer so both pages have the same signature date.

There is no other game in town. EUC's are required by law and the only
approval source is the TSC. We are taking a hard look at the resources
currently being utilized by GL and measuring how much additional support we
will need to provide a better level of service. The good news is after
receiving a new clearance (good for 5 years) future purchases can be
approved by the DRMS just like in the old days, as long as all business
details of the purchaser have remained the same.

Dave needs to check into these cases, could be an overactive officerat with
GL holding the paperwork and not passing it on, or a Gov officerat pissing
on GL for their own macabre reasons.

Sounds unreasonable all around, and in need of a fix, no one better than
David to handle it.
Has he been notified?

I've been submitting the EUC for years, but two sales ago it was
turned back four times for stupid stuff, like abbreviating road to Rd.
On the last sale I bid, it was kicked back because I did not spell
out my middle name. I never had to before. Do they really pay any
attention to place of birth, date of birth and SS#? It's all in the
records.
In the meantime, my hobbyist buddy got all four of his trucks while I
sit here and twiddle my thumbs. Apparently, not GL's fault on the delays.
