On starter relays and solenoids the large terminal stud where the bat.
cables mount are held tight to the body of the unit by a nut before the
cable and second nut. If this first nut is loose the stud can "wobble".
On the enclosed end of this stud is the contact. Looseness can allow the
contacts to touch and suddenly engage the starter.
as a rule of thumb, I always check the security of the stud mountind nut
before installing the cables and outer nut.
