Thanks Wes and all of the others who responded. As there is a lot of
repair work to do on the deuce it's time to find a 'cheap' used MIG welder
and take a refresher course on using it. Searching various lists for rust
repair has yielded info similar to what was posted here, tho many disagree
about which chemical rust remover works best. Many claim you can sand the
neutralized rust down for a somewhat smooth surface. The metal is thick on
old trucks, so I'll see.
