Hi Tom,
I think if you read through the regs regarding antique vehicles, I have
been told that there is a section dealing with vehicles that did not
have mountings for front plates. I also purchased personalized antique
plates. My plates are M35A2. I have actually removed the front plate,
and have installed a custom plate with the USMC Emblem, a flag-like
background, and lettering that reads in three lines:
HISTORIC
MILITARY
VEHICLE
If I drive my truck up to Gilbert, be sure to check out the plate. I
have never been stopped or questioned about this. I was thinking of
having many more of these plates made up if I found the interest. I can
have them made with any branch logo.
I am open to suggestions if anyone else is interested. The plates will
cost $19.95 ea.

PS: NJ does not issue custom tags for the trailers, or I would have
gotten this as well. I did have a slight problem getting the trailer
registered, since it was never titled. It is registered as "home made."
