That's right, the discriminator is for recieve. The thing is, the I.F. and discriminator are quite wide on the mil. sets. If I listen to a 10 Khz wide signal on a 30 KHz wide I.F system, and the
signal strength is just enough to give a 6dB SNR with a 30KHz wide signal, what's the SNR with the 10 Khz signal? Or is that a reasonable question?

(MV content -The RT246 is installed in the M35)
