Paul, I would say that your front wheels started turning because the sprag
had engaged. If the back wheels start spinning a certain percentage faster
(can't remember what %) than the front, the sprag engages front wheel drive.
As far as starting the Reo, have you tried to turn it over by hand? If it's
not locked up you could probably try starting it up. Better off to pull all
plugs and squirt some light oil in the cylinders and let it sit for a while.
Marvel mystery oil or Kroil comes to mind. Once it has sit for a while, crank
it over without plugs for a bit. It will spin easily and promote circulating
oil into the galleries that have long since drained out. Do this a few times
as an extra precaution. After its cleared out, drop the plugs back in and go
for it. Have you read the manual on sarting your gasser? Now's the time!
