some finer points....... all wheel cylinders are the same size and both
master cyls are the original size. with the same psi applied to both,
the brake application is the same as with a single circuit system. the
control valve that applies air to the cylinders is a double unit, only
being mechanically connected. each side of this valve is fed by its own
air tank which is separated from the main tank by check valves. this is
why a third tank was added. all three tanks have their own low air
switch. this system is almost an exact copy of a dot approved system.
there are two advantages and one disadvantage. on the plus side braking
application is made easier than even the best car system. second it is
no longer a single system. if any hose or line breaks on a normal m-35
you will have no brakes at all. the down side is that on this system you
must have air to have any brakes at all, so there may be times when it
has been sitting for a long time that air may have leaked down. (i can
park for two weeks and not loose any air, but it is a new system) as to
the parking brake, i am sure it was made for just that, but it will
easily lock up the rear tires. it will also easily over heat so use
should be used appropriately.
