Something that the old radio techs on the WS-19 set list have
mentioned is that if you heat up the carbon module in the oven for a
while (low as possible for several hours) it will dry it out.
Moisture isn't good for them, it makes the granules stick together.
Then after you take it out, rap it flat on the table in a nice solid
manner several times. That breaks the granules inside back up.

Try that on the ones that don't work now. It may fix them.
