Same thing happened to me last Sept (02) while returning home from
National Aerobatics Championship and charity airshow in Sherman, Texas.
Trooper said the tag on the tailgate " raised a RED FLAG " so he checked
it out. Had my papers in order. He thanked me for being co-operative,
and I thanked him for being on his toes. Made a new friend for our
hobby. We shook hands and I continued on my journey home.
