Mark - not having a xfer case to look at, or a tranny, this is completely
off the top of my head, but I'd think you might wind up with clearance
problems in gears v. shafts.
One other alternative is something I was thinking about to increase low
gearing - since the transfer case is a divorced set up, it's relatively easy
to add another xfer case in. Sort of a cheap Brownie set up. Gut the
additional case and use it only as an OD or UD. It looks like there's more
than enough space between the rear of the xfer case and the front rear axle.
This'll have to wait until I get my clammy paws on a case or two, but it's
been done on plenty of other low budget vehicles.
While we're on the subject of deuce mods, does anyone know this guy? I'd
like to ask him a few questions....

He's got a really slick setup on that truck.
