I just did this same thing last fall, recieved lots of helpful info from
the list. First off download a copy of the manual, TM 9-2320-361-20 you
need pages 7-15 thru 7-25 and 9-6 thru 9-11. This pretty much tells you how
to take the axle apart and put it back together. They list a special tool
for removing the seals, since I did not have the tool I took both sides
apart and used a legnth of 3/4" pipe to pound the seals out from the
opposite side (It's obvyous once you get it apart). Tap the new seals in
and you're done. It took me about 4hrs once I got to it, it's not too bad
except that it smells bad and the brake drums are a bit heavy. Oh yeah, you
will have to bleed the brakes when you're done also so when you get the
seals be sure to pick up some silicone brake fluid, a couple pounds of GAA
and a pile of paper towels.
