Sorry Steve you yourself say the CCKW has to be double clutched in all gears
going up that makes it a crash box or in other words if you do not double
clutch the gears will "crash". The early Clark 5 speed is a crash box with
beveled gears and dogs these are not syncro's if they were it would not be a
crash box.
I did not say bevel cut gear boxes were not crash boxes just that they had
less crashing.
I said that Crash box is a generic term given to early boxes with straight
cut gears but if you want me to put it in specific terms then fine crash
boxes are any gear box with out syncros there your CCKW has a crash box
happy.
