My .02

efficiency aside, other problems aside, I have priced a radiator - I will
take mine off very carefully, and put it in a safe place, then proceed with
engine removal, with or without transmission. And, yes I agree with pulling
engine and transmission together, but NOT with radiator still attached.

Danger!! Danger??

I read the email earlier that suggested you leave the radiator attacted to
the motor and thought, "hey that should work well".

Wrong. The trucks I have been parting out and working on have the front
motor mount and radiator mount as one unit. Much to my surprise I was
changing the bottom radiator hose and belts on my truck a few hours ago and
noticed it has a completely different motor mount set up. Better check to
see which you have. I don't know much about this stuff, but all the other
trucks I have seen the one mount on had not front winch. Mine has a winch.
That could be the difference.

At any rate I think leaving the trans attacted is the way to go. I left the
top plate in place when I swapped out some motors, but I bet it is easier
with that removed. A large back-hoe makes an excellent engine hoist too.

How about that compressor belt. I hope the new belt last many years.
