I've got the cheaper jack without the springs.
I suppose if you were going to bend a lot of pipe the springs might be
useful to speed production, but for the amount of being I do, I just put a
lever in the works and push the jack back down manually. I have found that
getting the pipe out of the dies can sometimes be a challenge. Perhaps
some grease on the die might make it easier to remove.
