P.S.
Normal service period is 300 Hrs . Take off covers on the alternator
and check condition of the brush gear , pay special attention to brush
length and slip ring wear , also that brushes are free to move in their
holders . Check all wiring is secure in fittings ,screws tight Etc , check
insulation of wiring , small animals can often get in through air vents and
just LOVE rubber and plastic as a snack before bedtime , where better to
spend the night than a nice warm alternator .
If being operated inside a building , pipe the exhaust out , but MOST
important is an adequate supply of air for cooling , for your genset about 2
Sqr feet low down for inlet and same high up for out.
Why 10% kerosene ? antiwaxing ? gasoline is better but evaporates in
storage.
You can`t beat your own powerstation when the utilities let you down !

Hope the above is helpful Noel
