A while back I inquired on the list about problems with my deuce steering. It was difficult and didn't feel right, harder than the fact that it's not power assisted. I received a lot of great information, some of it I am still pursuing. One thing that really helped was to center the steering. I found that the pitman arm was not installed in the right position relative to the shaft coming out of the steering box. I pulled the pitman arm and counted the number of turns of the steering wheel from left lock to right lock and then turned the wheel until it was centered (total turns divided by 2). There are scribed lines on both the pitman arm and the steering shaft that now lined up perfectly. I did park the truck really straight to begin with. This has really helped my steering and eliminated some of the weird things that were going on. Thanks to all who helped, particularly Arthur Bloom for some great info he sent. Also Mildocs on which I found, printed and greased-up the exact information I needed.
