I remember reading that the military has gone to oil analysis instead of
time/mileage for all(?) vehicles for cost saving. And while I have never
used one there is a portable tester at this site

the price is high for a individual it sounds like a good investment for a
club or maybe even making some extra money at the vehicles events.(If it
