I've thought about that for a while. It's very
military and would increase the re-sale value of
the truck. Problem is those hook lift's aren't
cheap. Furhter, I'd need a Boom-Wrecker's PTO
perhaps a Dump Truck's PTO for the Hydraulics.
And they'd need to have controls in the cab.
However, looking around. there are some not so
expensive hydraulic cylinders available at places
like surpluscenter.com that would move the 20,000
lb cargo just fine, so perhaps I'll build one of
these things myself rather than buy one. A 2
control valve would do all it needs to do.
Hmm. Phase two for the 5 ton transporter...or poor man's PLS/DROPS/CROPS truck.
