You can bolt the wheel onto the truck with the ring in and then use the
clip on air chuck. I have been doing this for years now. I do NOT
recommend chains becuse if they break if the ring comes off you will
be worse off then just having the ring to contend with and it you look
at the rating of the common chains you can buy, they are not all that
great.
Use hearing protection too.....
