Why did/does the US Army use these type of rims when the WWII style
of British Combat rims have been a mature design? Specifically the
type where you have two sets of bolts. The inner to get the
tire(tyre?)/rim off the hub and an outer set of bolts for splitting
the rim apart once the air is out of the tire/tyre.
