Since I don't have a clue what y'all are talking about it's probably really
naive for me to suggest anything...

But isn't there some kind of magnetic test (magnaflux?) which will cause
iron particles to part on either sides of a crack? I realize this is not
exactly a crack in the traditional sense...

I've also heard that flour spread over a light film of oil would find tiny
cracks...

Just tryin' to help...
