>As I posted earlier, the Spicer 3000 series transmissions used in the M-35 series trucks are only available with an SAE #3 bellhousing whereas the Multifuel engines(be they 2 1/2 or 5 ton) are equipped with an SAE #2 bellhousing hence the need of the adapter on the duece. And, by the way, the 5 ton does NOT use an adapter between the engine and the transmission NOT even the Cummins NHC-250 in the 800 series trucks as was posted here earlier!! Robert Anderson 2/1
