There is even an 800 Series 5 Ton Tractor/Wrecker so it's been a
standard LWB concept for quite some time. It makes sense when you
think about it. Some capacity to haul a flatbed for a vehicle that is
very unable to move but still needs to be recovered and can't be
towed in a suspended form.

A book that covers that series (G744 or M54 type 5 tons) covers that
wrecker. Its available off of Logsa actually. I'll e-mail you the PDF
for the Operators manual.
