LED lights

In a previous post, I stated that replacing the incandescent bulbs with LED
types didn't have much of an effect generally speaking, however, I'd like to
add that using RED LEDs produces a pure red light from the tail lights and
observed straight on they are very brilliant.
The bulbs I use are #1156 (12 volts), which fit the two sockets normally
occupied by the #1683 and #1251 bulbs.
A 100 ohm/5 watt resistor must be installed in series with each LED bulb to
drop the voltage to about 12 volts. The resistor may be installed inside or
outside the composite light assembly.
I have "marker" lights on my deuce as well and for them the LED replacement
for bulb #194 is used (also 12 volts). Here a 330 ohm/5 watt resistor must
be used in series to limit the voltage.

Buying individual LED bulbs is much more economical than getting the
finished assemblies. The #1156 LED bulb cost about $12.00/ea and the #194
about $5.00/ea (on ebay).

Cheers,
Bjorn
