Folks, recall that the SME list refers to the ITAR rules for export of
military equipment. Significant if one is travelling from the US to the
Great White North, perhaps, but simply does not apply to ownership. The
real issue is if/when you sell an item that is subsequently exported. This
is a potential area of concern. I continue to look, but cannot find a
record of prosecution for such a case that was not flagrantly "arms
trafficking".
Hassles at the border? Live in Detroit and work in Windsor in the
drug-laden mid and late 70's. My poor father got "rottweiler'd" as the
result of re-crossing the border with a case of booze for Christmas in the
trunks and a car full of Nuns (my aunts). What a hoot.

Heh. "Bango". Bet since it contains the word "Bang" (sic), it's now on the
SME list.
All I can say is that it's a good thing I didn't tell them about the
Exploding Scotsman sequestered beneath the floorboards.
