Hi

Of course this is not true for every vehicle. The bearing should be
tightened snugly while turning the wheel up on the jack and then the
adjusting nut backed off to the first locking location. The bearings
should not be run too tight. The procedure in the TM should be
followed. These are tapered roller bearings not ball bearings and
therefor they will always tend to self center as they run.

Correction: The wheel bearing adjusting nut should be tightened 1/8 turn

(not 1/8 inch)./Bjorn
