Once when I was younger and dumber I purchased a truck for my business which required going thru Michigan weigh stations. I found out about the weigh station thing one day while speeding up I-94, past a radar check point, and blowing past the weigh station where they were waiting for me to issue a ticket. An unhappy state trooper finally caught up and escorted me back to the scale where they performed a thorough truck inspection on my then 1 week old truck. Amazingly I escaped with only a speeding ticket for 5 over and the recommendation that I get a GVW plate for my truck. Never got the plate and I never went past that weigh station again w/ that vehicle.
